WINTERSVILLE — The Steubenville Art Association has rescheduled its Jan. 18 Pen and Ink Drawing workshop which will now take place on Saturday.
President Judy Schmidt explained an emergency had caused the class to be postposed. Those interested in participating will now meet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Center of Music and Art in Wintersville.
This will be the first workshop of the year, Schmidt said. The class will be led by Debra Kimball.
The cost to attend will be $40 per person.
Anyone who enjoys drawing or is interested in learning more about the workshop, can contact the SAA through its Facebook page prior to class.
Those attending can let officials know through the social media site so the necessary supplies can be prepared.
Schmidt said all are welcome, including non-members.
She then announced she is in the process of applying for a grant from the Ohio Arts Council in order to help support the group throughout the next four years.
Schmidt expressed her appreciation to the council for the two “nice grants” the SAA previously received from the organization.
“I would just like to thank the Ohio Arts Council for making our art shows possible,” she concluded, saying the grant funding has afforded the SAA an opportunity for members to continue showcasing their works to the public and allowing area artists the chance to continue following their dreams.
