NEW CUMBERLAND -- President Vivian Weigel called to order the March 6 meeting of the Hancock County Museum Commission. She then led in the reciting of the pledge to the flag.
In addition to Weigel, those in attendance included Treasurer Marcus Trelaine, John Speerhas and Mary Fern Schmidt.
Minutes from the previous meeting were tabled. Plans were made to discuss the minutes at the museum's next meeting.
Trelaine presented the financial statement, which members approved. The statement will be filed for audit.
Members approved the payment of bills, as well as a proposed CD-rollover.
Old business consisted of members discussing the need for a secretary. Schmidt agreed she would fill the position, with those present unanimously approving her moving into the role.
Under new business, members briefly talked about the 2024 Summer Lecture Series. They noted the topic would be discussed further during the group's April meeting.
Trelaine and Weigel announced they met with Hancock County Commissioners on March 14.
Trelaine requested members' approval to transfer funds from savings to checking, should the need arise to pay the bill for the Post Office Box.
He also sought approval to submit financial information for the museum's tax report. Both requests were approved.
Speerhas reported the museum's website was down, to which Trelaine responded he had not received a bill. Weigel stated she would follow-up on the matter.
