Adults experience kids camp

Members of the Italian American Cultural Club shared in a “Taste of Campo Italiano” during its April meeting, held at Scaffidi’s Restaurant and Tavern. Participants received the opportunity to be campers for an evening, participating in many of the activities which the youth experiences every summer. Cultural and language areas were set up in which to learn from instructors. Additional stations included making crafts, participating in games and listening to music. A dinner of gnocchi, meatballs, green beans, salad and wedding soup was served. Members also tasted the traditional camper chicken strips. Homemade biscotti and cookies were served for dessert while the Provenzano brothers played Italian music for those in attendance. Camp songs were sung and members danced the Tarantella, led by Barb Provenzano. Campo Italiano volunteer Rene’ Walsh, left, gave a sample of focaccia bread to member Tony Tiberio.
