A Christmas version of Breakfast with Santa took place at Zalenski's Restaurant and Grill in Wintersville Dec. 2. The event was hosted by Joyce Nicholson, national director of the William Penn Association, headquartered in Pittsburgh. The 130-year life insurance and annuities company collected donations of pet food, pet toys and treats to benefit the animals at the Jefferson County Humane Society. All those attending the event received a ticket for a door prize, organizers stated. Everyone was a winner. Children in attendance were given the opportunity to select from a special table of presents, which included toys, books and backpacks.
