Veterans commission to meet

STEUBENVILLE -- The regular monthly meeting of the Veterans Service Commission of Jefferson County will be held at 12:30 pm Wednesday at 500 Market St. in Suite 310. All veterans and interested parties are welcome to attend.

City retirees hold meetings

STEUBENVILLE -- Those involved with the Steubenville City Schools Retirees group met for lunch Sept. 14, discussing the Academy of Lifelong Learning and their upcoming vacation to the Galapagos Islands.

The next lunch will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Capraro's Restaurant and Lounge in Hopedale. All retirees are welcome to attend. No reservations are needed.

Needhams to perform

CARROLLTON -- The Needhams from Murfreesboro, Tenn., will be in concert at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Carrollton Bible Chapel, located at 365 Steubenville Road, S.E., Carrollton. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The group sings bluegrass and southern gospel songs, according to organizers. With their combined talents of singing, songwriting and playing instruments.

"The Needhams move ahead with optimism, never losing sight of their primary goal -- to uplift the name of Jesus Christ," officials said.

David Needhams stated, "Our goal is to glorify God, edify his people and win the lost."

This is the group's first concert at Bible Chapel and a love offering will be taken during the intermission. Door prizes will be given away, as well. Two canned goods are being requested for admission and will be donated to the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry in Carrollton.
