MINGO JUNCTION -- The Funseeker's club gathered for its annual covered-dish picnic on Aug. 6. The event was held at Aracoma Park.
President Judy Gaynor was on hand to welcome all those attending the celebration.
She then stood before members and acknowledged all members who had August celebrations to take note of, including birthdays and anniversaries.
Gaynor then mentioned several members of the club who are sick and are in need of get-well wishes and prayers.
An announcement was then made that the normal monthly meeting was going to be suspended and members were told to just enjoy an afternoon of food, fellowship and games.
Several games were played with various prizes being awarded.
A gift basket donated by First Choice Credit Union was won by Barbara Jean Losey.
The 50/50 drawing was won by Donna Balzano.
Door prizes were supplied by Iris Craig. Winners of these prizes were: Mary Beth Bauer, Karen Krause, Les Stuckmeyer, Dino Rossi, Jean Dalfonso, George Pohlman, Chuck Bugin, Balzano, Losey and Craig.
Members played several games of bingo, with Marlene Dunn winning the first two rounds.
Additional winners were: Marilyn DiLeonardo, Balzano, Rossi, Judy Bickler and George Pohlman.
The Funseeker's traditional game of horse race returned with winners George Williams, Laura Mamula, Carl Truax and Judy Gaynor.
Incoming President Cathy DiBenetto called an emergency meeting of the trustees on Aug. 18.
She reported two people who had been nominated for the position of an officer in the upcoming term who are unable to serve.
During the upcoming meeting on Wednesday, volunteers will be asked to fill those positions, one being vice president and the other, treasurer.
The Wednesday meeting will take place at Undo's restaurant in Weirton.
There will be bingo featured and door prizes supplied by Terry and Laura Mamula.
All members are reminded their 2023-24 dues must be paid prior to the October meeting. Dues are $10.
