STEUBENVILLE -- The Jefferson County Historical Association and the Tri State Writers Society are co-sponsoring An Afternoon with Ohio Valley Authors. This open house is a free event taking place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Jefferson County Historical Museum, located at 426 Franklin Ave.
Ten local authors will be in attendance, speaking about their books -- many of which are of local historical interest. Each author will have their books available for autographing and purchase.
Authors will include: Cadiz native Michelle Beall, author of three paranormal fantasy books, including "My Little Butterfly,;" Wintersville author Susan M. Guy, author of true crime Ohio Valley stories, including "The Moonlight Mill Murders" and "Mobsters, Madams, & Murder in Steubenville, Ohio;" Steubenville native Joan McGlone, author of "The House on Seventh Street," based on the true story of her grandmother's life in Steubenville; Steubenville native Cherie Metcalf, who found strength in her faith after her husband's death in, "Blue Heart: God's Assurance During Grief;" Wintersville native Mary M. Paice, author of a famous madame in "A Life of Love with Madam Judy Jordan;" and Toronto author Robert Petras, author of "River Rats" and "Release the Belgium."
Author Mary Antoinette Gallo Sunyoger's "Life Lessons: A Connection of Souls Throughout Life's Journey" will be discussed; Skip Trombetti will have copies of "Thirteen Months, Tales of a Marine in Vietnam," a personal account of his time in the military; West Virginia resident Sarah Wagner, author of many sci-fi paranormal fantasy books, notably "Hunter's Crossing" and and "Christmas in Bear Ridge;" and West Virginia resident Mary Zwierczhowski, co-writer of "Secrets in the Mist: The History of Brown's Island," is slated to attend. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the museum at the event, officials concluded.
