Carrollton business Encino Energy, along with its vendors, were able to raise $80,000 through its annual event, Encino Energy Vendor Charity Classic. The two-day event consisted of a clay shoot, golf outing and welcome reception. Proceeds were split equally four ways, with $20,000 going to local charities which impact Encino's operational area, including the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy Foundation, the Brightside Project and the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition. The charitable funds raised will go a long way in bringing meaningful change to not just the region, but the whole state of Ohio, officials stated. Those taking part in the check presentation from the Foundation of Appalachian Ohio were from left, Brandon Mitchell, Tetra Technologies; Sarah Keeler, representative from the office of U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson, R-Marietta; Ray Walker, Encino Energy; Jamie Gordon, Patterson-UTI; Tracy Mann, Foundation for Appalachian Ohio; Jennifer Bass, Encino Energy; and Eric Shuster, Vallourec. Walker expressed his appreciation following receiving the fundraising totals. He stated this is Encino Energy's first year throwing a charity event of this size, adding officials are proud of the amount which was raised toward the charitable causes, thanks to its vendors. He noted each of the four recipients are well-deserving of these investments. Officials will continue finding ways to make a positive impact on their employee's lives, its vendors lives and the lives of the citizens in the communities in which it operates. — Contributed
