The Steelworkers of Active Retirees, Local Chapter 8-5, held its annual picnic June 22 in Follansbee. The gathering was opened by John Balzano, president of the local chapter. Guest speakers for the event included Julie Stein, SOAR director; state Sen. Ryan Weld, R-Brooke; and Cleveland Cliffs plant manager, John Stubna. Officials were in attendance to answer questions, including John Frankovich, president and CEO of Weirton Medical Center; Highmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield; and CHANGE Inc.
