Museum kits through library
STEUBENVILLE -- The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County, in partnership with the History Center Affiliates Program and Whitehall Public Library, is offering museum experience kits to the public.
Kits include free admission for two adults and up to six children to select from eight different kits to historical sites and museums around Pittsburgh and one hometown favorite from the following: Heinz History Center, Fort Pitt Museum, Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village, Historic Fort Steuben, Railroaders Memorial Museum and Horseshoe Curve, David Bradford House and Whiskey Rebellion Education Center, Old Economy Village and Fort Ligonier.
Sarita Asawa, outreach coordinator, formed the partnership last year stating, "I'm so excited for our second year of the museum experience kits and looking forward to a new year of expanded tickets, new museums and more cultural opportunities for Jefferson County."
Patrons can visit the library, check out the museum kit as they would a book and return it upon completion. A QR code is on the back of each pass for a virtual experience which includes links to videos, music, scavenger hunts or other nearby sites. Virtual kits will soon be available on the library's website by clicking on the, "services" tab. Kits are available at each PLSJ location through December, with the Heinz History Center kit available year-round.
