Drawing for quilt made from T-shirts part of book sale

STEUBENVILLE -- The Friends of the Library of the Public Library of Sgteubenville and Jefferson County will be hosting its book sale at the Main Library on May 6 and 7 from 10 a.m to 4 p.m.

Books will be sold for 25 cents each. The event will include a bake sale and a drawing for a hand-made quilt. Duggan's Delights food truck will be in the parking lot on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., starting with breakfast burritos and sandwiches for the morning crowd.

All proceeds from the book sale go to the Friends group.

The library is celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May. Stop by any library branch and pick up a Candy Sushi Grab-and-Go. "You'll learn about the history of Sushi as well as make your own treat. It's for all ages," a spokesperson explained.

Adults: There will be a Royal Tea Party to watch the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla on May 6 at 1 p.m. Register by calling the library.

Tai Chi class meets each Tuesday at 10 a.m. and is led by a certified instructor. Stop in to participate and wear comfortable clothing.

Children: A new StoryWalk begins at Steubenville's Beatty Park on Monday. "Fort Building Time" by Megan Wagner Lloyd and Abigail Halpin will be featured for families to read together outdoors. " When you're finished, take the kids to the Main Library to pick up a prize," the spokesperson noted.

"May the 4th Be with You." Stop in to pick up a Star Wars Grab-and-Go while supplies last. It includes materials to make a bookmark.

Play and Learn the Alphabet will be on Monday at 11:30 a.m. Children ages 2-6 can play with toys that promote alphabet knowledge.

Pick up a Grab-and-Go Story Time starting Monday while supplies last. The bag will include a craft and the book "Born to Be a Butterfly" by Karen Wallace.
