The Old Fort Steuben Project held its annual dinner and membership meeting Sunday in Hellenic Hall at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Jonathan Bratten, center, a captain and the command historian of the Maine Army National Guard who serves as the Army Center of Military History's current historian in residence in Washington, D.C., was the guest speaker. Bratten, the son of Judy Bratten, fort director, discussed how history can be fluid during his presentation, which was titled "So, You Think You Know History." Among those who participated in the afternoon was Jerry Barilla, treasurer of the fort board. Founded in 1986, the project has worked to reconstruct, maintain and promote the 18th century frontier fort. Since 2012, it has been designated as Steubenville's Convention and Visitors Bureau.
