EGCC student Kimberly Boyer named
Coca-Cola Academic Team Silver Scholar
STEUBENVILLE -- Eastern Gateway Community College student Kimberly Boyer has been named a 2023 Coca-Cola Academic Team Silver Scholar and will receive a $1,250 scholarship.
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation sponsors the Coca-Cola Academic Team program by recognizing 50 gold, 50 silver and 50 bronze scholars with nearly $200,000 in scholarships annually. Each scholar gets a commemorative medallion.
"We couldn't be more proud of Kimberly Boyer for earning this scholarship and recognition of her hard work and academic achievement," said EGCC President Michael Geoghegan. "Our students continue to wow us with their incredible determination and their never-ending pursuit of excellence. Students like Kimberly are raising the bar, and we are thankful for organizations like the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation for recognizing and rewarding those qualities. It's a great day to be a Gator!"
"The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation has a long history of providing financial assistance to outstanding students at community colleges," said Jane Hale Hopkins, president of the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. Students are nominated for the academic team by their college administrators. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership and engagement in college and community service.
Coca-Cola Academic Team members will be recognized in local and statewide ceremonies and will be recognized internationally during Phi Theta Kappa's annual convention, PTK Catalyst, to be held in Columbus on April 20-22.

"Scholarships like these are integral to the success of these students in reaching their educational and career goals."
Geneva College
BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- Chase Hervey of Cadiz was named to Geneva College's dean's list for the fall 2022 semester.
To be eligible for this recognition, students in traditional programs must earn a grade-point average of at least 3.6 while passing 12 credit hours or more.
Duquesne University
Austin Connor, a Wintersville resident, was named to the dean's list at Duquesne University for the fall 2022 semester.
To be eligible for this recognition, a student must achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.
