Library is offering variety of ocean-themed programs
STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has announced the following programs and activities being planned at its various locations.

Children: There will be a knot tying program to teach participants how to tie a sailor’s knot and more on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Registration is required.
Family movie day is June 25 at 2 p.m. Save a seat and find out what movie is featured by calling the library.
Adena Branch, (740) 546-3782
Children: The knot tying program will be held Monday at noon. Registration is required.
Send a coded message in a bottle, make an Origami boat and learn to filter water at the “Shipwrecked” program on Thursday at 3 p.m. Registration is required.
Teens: Build a lighthouse from recyclable materials (craft sticks, paper or plastic) and then take it to the library anytime Monday through June 25 to display. Each lighthouse must support a battery tea light that’s supplied by the library. Each participant will be entered into a prize drawing.
Make a book bag from a recycled T-shirt on Thursday at 1 p.m. Supplies are limited. Registration is required.

Adults: “Oceans of Wow” is June 25, beginning at 1 p.m. Watch STEM-based demonstrations with the OH WOW! Science Center in Youngstown.
An “Under the Sea” paint ‘n sip will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. Sip on a tropical drink while painting an ocean scene. Registration is required.
