STEUBENVILLE -- Julie Gomez, director of operations at the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Greater Wheeling, will be the guest speaker at the Ohio Valley Youth Network meeting on Tuesday at the Sycamore Youth and Community Center, 301 N. Fourth St. Her topic for the 6:30 p.m. meeting will "Youth and Mental Health/Illness in the Valley."
Its mission is "to work to improve the quality of life for mental health consumers and their families through community outreach, public education, advocacy and family support," a news release notes. "We are a group of families, professionals and recovering persons with mental illness, dedicated to improving the care, treatment, rehabilitation and status of people with mental illness."
