Boscov’s will take coupons from BB&B

Oil, gas has generated $350M in area taxes

COLUMBUS — Ohio’s oil and natural gas industry paid $57.6 million in real estate property taxes in eight eastern Ohio counties in 2021, according to the latest data from county auditors. Since shale development began in Ohio in 2010, the industry has paid more than $349.9 million in property taxes in those counties. The 2021 tax payments rank second highest during the past 12 years, behind only 2020, when the number was $62.2 million.
