Dutton Cattle opens new beef shop in Morristown
MORRISTOWN — The Dutton Cattle Co. will now give people the opportunity to shop its meat selection and more in Morristown.
The company announced its new beef shop at the Pike 40 restaurant property in Morristown at 41010 National Road near Union Local High School.
“We want to make local beef more accessible for local people, ” says Chris Dutton, director of sales and branding. “Rural Ohio residents committed to buying local, should not have to search or drive very far for locally grown beef. It’s that simple.”
The Duttons celebrated the new store with an open house on Thursday.
Dutton Cattle has been selling beef online with local pickup and delivery since COVID shocked the supply chain in 2020, and the new store gives customers another more traditional shopping experience and access to local beef. Located on the same property as their farm-to-table restaurant, Pike 40, the new storefront doubles down on Dutton’s commitment to build community and “Shop Local.”
Customers will now be able to purchase Dutton’s premium wagyu steaks and ground beef straight from the store, alongside a curated selection of goods that reflect the spirit of ranch life.
“Our store can be a model, and a hub for other local producers to sell their products,” says Dutton.
In addition to their premium ground beef and steaks, the store will offer their own signature branded coffee and seasonings known as Ranch Hand, as well as local artisan products like bread by Harvest Trail, honey by Raspberry Fields Apiary and mushrooms by the Shroomeister. The store is also adorned with local gifts, and Dutton Cattle merchandise, with more products planned.
“We all need to know more about where our food comes from, and this store, and our staff will make sure people are informed.”
The Dutton Cattle Co. raises premium Ohio wagyu beef on a regenerative ranch in the coal hills of Eastern Ohio. The cattle are humanely raised on pasture and grain-finished by hand without the use of growth hormones, implants, steroids, or sub-therapeutic antibiotics.
The ranch consists of 2,000 acres outside Flushing and features Akaushi cattle, a Wagyu breed known for its superior genetic and palatability traits.
The retail beef shop will operate in soft opening mode for the remainder of summer, with open hours Tuesday through Saturday. For information, visit duttoncattle.com.
