STEUBENVILLE — Ascent Resources, a leading local oil and gas producer, has donated 20 laptop computers to the Urban Mission to support guests at the organization’s shelter. The donation is aimed at helping individuals access critical resources, apply for employment and secure permanent housing.

The contribution reflects Ascent Resources’ commitment to supporting the local community and empowering individuals on the path to stability and independence.

“We’re proud to partner with the Urban Mission in their important work,” said Brent Riggle, senior external affairs coordinator at Ascent Resources. “Providing access to technology is a small but meaningful way we can help break down barriers to employment and housing for those working to rebuild their lives.”

Urban Mission staff say the laptops will be placed in communal areas where on average 50 shelter guests a month will use them for job searches, filling out housing applications and staying connected with support services.

“We are incredibly grateful for Ascent’s generosity,” said Cynthia Lytle, director of strategic partnerships and community engagement at the Urban Mission. “These laptops will open up new opportunities for our guests and help them take the next steps toward a more secure future.”

Ascent Resources’ donation is part of a broader effort to support underserved populations.
