FOLLANSBEE -- "I want this to be a place for everyone," said Taylor Provenzano as she welcomed visitors recently to her new business, Soulshine, at 834 Main St. Suite B.
A yoga instructor for 10 years, Provenzano hopes to engage people of all ages in exercise designed to reduce stress, physically and mentally.
After participating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new business, she invited members of the Follansbee and Wellsburg chambers of commerce and other guests to sit down with her for a short session of chair yoga. Designed for people with mobility issues, it involves participants in stretching their bodies without descending to the floor.
Certified by the Yoga Alliance, Provenzano said she plans to offer various yoga sessions and other classes involving movement five days a week.
She said in addition to regularly scheduled sessions Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through Saturdays, she will be available for private sessions with individuals and groups.
Hours for the scheduled sessions range between 5:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. to accommodate a variety of personal needs.
A schedule of Soulshine's regular sessions can be found on her Facebook page at Soulshine LLC or website, soulshinewv.com.
Provenzano said she'd also like to add dance and possibly art to the studio's offerings, with the ultimate goal of helping people to relax.
"I want to make this a place where you can cultivate a spirit between your mind and body and with the community," she said.
A native of Hooverson Heights and 2010 graduate of Brooke High School, Provenzano lives in Follansbee with her husband, Nick, and their two children.
