TechGrowth Ohio names Kopelwitz to key position

JESSICA KOPELWITZ

ATHENS — Jessica Kopelwitz has been named associate director of TechGrowth Ohio, a venture development organization serving entrepreneurs and startup technology companies in Southeast Ohio.

“We are very excited about what Jessica brings to our team as a serial entrepreneur and small business champion, and we look forward to her contributions,” said Lynn Gellermann, executive director of TechGrowth and associate dean of the Voinovich School for Leadership and Public Service. “She will play an important role in complementing TechGrowth’s efforts to provide services and investment capital in communities across the region.”

An Ohio native, Kopelwitz holds an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western University, a BBA from Ohio University and a designation of certified business adviser from Kent State University. Her experience includes entrepreneurship, small business advisory services, corporate banking, and technology sales. She is active in numerous community organizations including service on the board of directors for the Ohio Women’s Coalition, a statewide non-partisan alliance of women business leaders focused on improving the economic position for women through access to capital.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to help TechGrowth further its reach to entrepreneurs and companies with high-growth potential in southeast Ohio. It feels like a natural progression in my career and very much like I am supposed to be here,” said Kopelwitz who previously served with Ohio University’s Small Business Development Center.

Kopelwitz will be primarily working on TechGrowth’s partnership and business development efforts throughout the region and within Ohio University’s research and commercialization community.

TechGrowth Ohio is a $75 million public-private partnership based at Ohio University. Learn more at techgrowthohio.com.
