HCSB foundation presents awards

Contributed GRANTS PRESENTED — The Hancock County Savings Bank Charitable Foundation recognized this year’s award recipients during a reception in Chester.

CHESTER — Recipients of this year’s recipients of the Hancock County Savings Bank Charitable Foundation awards were recognized during a presentation held Nov. 8.

The 2023 awardees are Blue Stream Farms Corp., Brooke Hancock Veterans Memorial Park, Brooke Hancock Family Resource Network, Chester Volunteer Fireman’s Association, Coleman Professional Services, Communicycle Beaver County, East Liverpool Calcutta Area Garden Club, Hancock Brooke Counties Victim Assistance Program, Hancock County Parks and Recreation, Museum of Ceramics, Newell Community Improvement Coalition, Ohio Valley Youth Network, Rotary Club of Beaver, Rotary Club of Calcutta, Rotary Club of East Liverpool, the Salvation Army of Weirton, Tomlinson Run State Park Foundation Inc., Upper Ohio Valley Museum and Learning Center at the Lou Holtz Hall of Fame and the Weirton Christian Center.

“We are proud and honored to provide some needed assistance to these wonderful local organizations. Serving our communities has and will always be a part of Hancock County Savings Bank’s mission to create a better place for all of us to live,” said Doug Comm, bank president and CEO and chairman of the foundation board.

Since 1999, more than $1 million has been donated to nearly 200 Tri-State Area service and support organizations. Serving on the board are Comm, President George Ash, Sr., Treasurer Alicia Davis, Secretary Anthony Bernardi, Romie Castelli, Drew Cooper, Catherine Ferrari, Cheryl Schreiber, and Marvin Six. All of the board members are volunteers.

Funding for the foundation is primarily derived from contributions by Hancock County Savings Bank as part of its mission, which includes a commitment to supporting the dedicated work of community organizations. The next round of grant applications must be submitted by Sept. 30.
