Franciscan offers continuing education
STEUBENVILLE — The Center for Criminal Justice, Law and Ethics at Franciscan University of Steubenville has announced its lineup of online continuing legal education courses for justice practitioners and the legal community.
Online programs exploring high-profile areas of the legal field as well as natural law include: “Abortion, the Natural Law and the Supreme Court: The Genealogy of Change in a Post-Roe World;” “Aquinas: Virtue, the Natural Law and Modern Problems;” “Cicero and the Nature of Law;” “Law, Ethics and Religion in America;” and “The Law of Armed Conflict, Genocide and Other War Crimes.”
Courses are approved for CLE credits in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
The center sponsors continuing legal education courses to teach justice professionals to apply natural law reasoning and the Catholic moral tradition in their practice.
Presenters are high-profile practitioners concerned about the legal system’s current moral state and convinced of the critical role of natural law in legal operations.
