Lighthouse Counseling: 5 years of saving lives
Contributed MILESTONE — Staff members of Lighthouse Counseling and Meditation Services celebrate their fifth anniversary of serving the community.
STEUBENVILLE — For five years, Lighthouse Counseling and Mediation Services has been located in Steubenville at its current location, 320 Market St.
Lighthouse opened a second location at 333 W. Fourth St. in Salem in 2022.
Lighthouse provides treatment for individuals with mental health and substance abuse needs. Currently there are 100 clients who are prescribed Suboxone to assist in their recovery from opioids.
Lighthouse Counseling provides treatment for adults, adolescents, and children who have mental health counseling needs. There are currently 60 children in the Kids Group. Children are taught lessons on anger, bullying, self-control, social skills, following directions, paying attention and self-esteem; they are taught holistically when the group meets on Saturdays during the school year and Monday through Friday during summer break.
According to Lighthouse Counseling officials, the goal is to treat the whole person — mind, body, spirit — so that individuals can establish a foundation on which to build a productive and full life in recovery.
Lighthouse Counseling is owned and operated by Kimberly Ford, CEO and Clinical Director. Her staff consists of 12 employees who share a passion for helping others.
In addition to holding multiple licenses, Ford has earned a certified first responder counselor designation. Lighthouse can be reached at (740) 314-5339 and on its website, lighthouseoh.com.
