New take on pizza
Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce members and area residents joined the Madden family to celebrate the grand opening of Martoni’s Fire Baked Pizza at 104 N. Fourth St. in Steubenville. The business, founded by Marty and Toni Madden, specializes in wood-fired pizza. It got its start during the 2018 Nutcracker Village celebration. Marty Madden started his pizza journey watching his grandmother make her homemade pizza and working for many Italian restaurants over the years, including a stint as general manager of the Italian Oven in the Tri-State Plaza in Steubenville in the early 1990s. In addition to pizza, Martoni’s offers fresh-made pasta, salads, sandwiches and more. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Fridays, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturdays, 2 p.m. to closing, and is closed Sundays and Mondays. They also plan to be at spring and summer events with their mobile ovens and are available for catered events. Madden said customers can use Doordash for delivery and can order directly from the shop’s website, martonifoods.com. (Contributed photo)
