SERVPRO signs purchase pledge for truck

Lordstown Motors Corp. has another signed purchase pledge for its Endurance, this one from SERVPRO, a fire- and water-damage restoration company with locations in Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania that wants to buy 1,200 of the all-electric trucks.

“The total cost of ownership provided by the Endurance truck continues to resonate with our commercial fleet customers,” said Steve Burns, Lordstown Motors CEO. “When combined with factory-installed telematics, fewer moving parts and increased safety features, the Endurance represents an excellent opportunity for SERVPRO to lower their overall cost of doing business.”

Services provided by SERVPRO include biohazard cleanup, HVAC cleaning, carpet and upholstery cleaning, asbestos abatement and power washing.

The new vehicles will complement the company’s existing 40-vehicle fleet.

“The Endurance truck provides our company with added utility, flexibility and performance across all divisions,” said Jim Standohar, SERVPRO marketing manager. “Our project managers look for value and economy, our production crew requires towing capacity and our construction division hauls on a regular basis, so we are excited to see how the Endurance truck will amplify our day-to-day operations.”

The agreement ensures the company will be among the first customers to receive delivery in early 2021 when full-scale production begins.

Lordstown Motors already has commitments from Momentum Groups, a fleet management company in Westlake, for 900 Endurances; from Akron’s FirstEnergy to purchase 250 Endurances; Clean Fuels Ohio to encourage the sale of 500 trucks and from Innervation, a Florida company that specializes in electric-vehicle charging stations, to broker 1,000 more of the trucks to clients to convert fleets to electric vehicles.

The SERVPRO announcement comes just days before Thursday’s public debut of the Endurance at the startup automaker’s plant in Lordstown, the former General Motors assembly plant. It’s expected Gov. Mike DeWine will attend.

Lordstown Motors is working with the Ohio Department of Health and the Trumbull County Combined Health District to take “all required and necessary precautions to ensure the event is safe and sanitized” for the June 25 introduction.

Attendees will be appropriately social distanced, required to wear masks and use hand sanitizer. All attendees also will be required to sign a COVID-19 waiver and all the rooms will be sanitized, according to the company.

The launch will be livestreamed on Lordstown Motors’ YouTube channel.
