POLICE REPORTS

STEUBENVILLE POLICE

Angry break: A caller reported hearing "items breaking and people shouting" from a neighbor's house Monday. As they arrived, a resident who lives nearby said he could hear things being broken “and people screaming" in the home. When they arrived, police said a man exited the home and advised police his housemate was supposed to be at work, but someone had dropped her off earlier and she was intoxicated. He said she broke the front door and door jamb to get in and "punched him in the left side of his head as he was sleeping." Police said they didn't see any bruising or cuts but the front door couldn't be secured and the "door jamb and plaster(were) broken off the wall near the lock." They said the woman did appear to be intoxicated and told them she was upset because while she was at work, the man "began texting her about sleeping with other women." She said she got a ride home and got in the house through the garage, then exited through the front door. Once she was outside, he locked the door and when she tried to use her key to get back in, it wouldn't work, at which point she realized he'd changed the lock. She said she began screaming and kicked the door in. Police told him she lives there and if he doesn't want her in the house he'll have to file a notice of eviction. She ended up refusing to leave for the night, so the man went to a hotel.

Sparked: Employees at Walmart claimed they watched a Spark shopper concealing merchandise in an online order for delivery Monday and reported finding $408 in food and alcohol that the customer hadn't ordered. Police said J'Ajzha A. Boyer, 26, 609 Virginia Ave., Follansbee, was charged with petit theft. The company is seeking restitution for 77 perishable items in the customer's Spark order they had to dispose of because of the delay.

Vehicle vs pedestrian: A driver was cited Monday after he allegedly struck a pedestrian and her children in a crosswalk at the intersection of South and 4th streets. Police said Angelo DiGregorio, 77, 13442 Township Road 166, Bloomingdale, was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian and a stop sign violation.

Two cited: A two-car accident Monday at the intersection of University Boulevard and N. 7th Street resulted in citations to both drivers. Police said James Monroe, 28, 421 Darlington Rd., Steubenville, told them he'd turned left from 7th onto University Boulevard and collided with a vehicle operated by Maria Roscoe, 28, 1391 Pierce Ave., Toronto. Monroe was cited for no operator's license and failure to yield on a left turn, police said, while Maria Roscoe, 28, 1391 Pierce Ave., Toronto, was cited for no child restraints.

Better late than never: A Cherry Avenue resident reported suspicious activity that occurred two-to-three years ago.

Cited: Nichole Ketner, 35, 138 TerraManor, Wintersville, turning at intersections; Paula C. Knox, 47, 215 E. Main St., Richmond, speeding (school zone).
