STEUBENVILLE POLICE

Bad behavior: A man who pulled out of Wendy's Sunday apparently enraged a female driving a white Ford. They told police the female driver "aggressively pulled around them, got in front and began brake-checking (them)." The male driver said he followed the white Ford to PNC bank and turned into the alley behind it, at which point the woman driving the Ford and her female companion "pulled up beside them and two white females began yelling at him and one of them threw something against the back windshield" then got back in their car and left the area. Police said there was "an unknown substance" on his back window but he was able to wipe it off.

Destructive: A Parkdale resident said a juvenile she's had problems with in the past came on her property and grabbed a toy from her front porch, then took it to the neighborhood park "and destroyed the toy." She said she's asked the boy to stay away from her residence in the past, so police spoke to his grandmother who advised the boy had already went home for the evening but she would speak to him.

One driver, two parked cars: Jonathan J. Schaefer, 23, Harrison Avenue, Cadiz, was cited for reckless operation after he turned left from Scioto onto Pine Valley Drive and struck a parked car propelling it into a second parked car.

Booked: Eric Vladich, 42, 2038 State Route 168, Georgetown, PA, possession of drugs, Saturday. Police allege Vladich had been sitting on a small plastic baggie with a brown powder-like substance when the vehicle he was in was pulled over on Woodlawn at Roosevelt avenue. Also, Dominic Seaman, 31, 529 Franklin Ave., Steubenville, failure to appear, Saturday.

Cited: Chance D. Wilson, 1235 University Blvd., Steubenville, failure to control after a two-car accident with no injuries Sunday on Lincoln at Railroad avenues.

JEFFERSON COUNTY SHERIFF

Good catch: An Irondale area resident told deputies he spotted a suspicious male on his porch Saturday. He said the man rang his doorbell then stood there a few minutes before leaving. He said it seemed especially odd because he "has a very long driveway and nobody else lives on it." He captured an image of the man and his social media friends helped identify him. Deputies said the man has a long criminal history including, among other things, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and drugs.

Had it: A caller said a man was "banging on the windows" at a business on Sinclair Avenue and had said he was "thinking about throwing flaming shopping carts through the door" Saturday. The neighbor shares a wall with the business and told deputies it gets extremely noisy at times and admitted to banging on the windows, asking them to keep the noise down.

On the run: A Mount Pleasant caller reported finding a child "with no shoes and very little clothes" walking on Main Street Saturday. Deputies took custody of the child and as they were driving spotted a man who appeared to be looking for someone and when the child recognized him, stopped. He identified himself as the child's uncle and said he and the boy's mom were working on a car while the boy played in the yard and he wandered away. Deputies said there was no sign the child had been neglected or endangered, and mom apologized for the trouble but told them she appreciates townspeople looking after her child.

Fired up: Weirton police asked deputies to look into four people on a boat in the vicinity of Kingsdale Road in Costonia shooting toward a petroleum plant Saturday. The boaters said they were duck hunting on property they lease. Deputies said they "educated the hunters" with regard to the property.

Steamed: A Yorkville woman wanted to pursue charges against a neighbor who she said falsely claimed she'd been prowling in her basement. She said deputies came to her workplace "and found her to be at work the whole time." She said she's had problems with the neighbor because they had “refused to clean up trash left by a prior resident" and her home had been infested by cockroaches because of it. Deputies told the woman it would be hard to prove the neighbor knowingly filed a false report because saying she'd been "possibly" seen in the basement doesn't necessarily mean she falsely reported it.

Unhappy: A Sinclair Avenue man said his ex used his Cash App card to pay her phone bill Sunday.

Failed scam: A Richmond man said a scammer claiming to be with the Jefferson County Sheriffs Department wanted to talk with him about a "very important legal matter" but "asked him to verify his information" before he shared it. The caller said he told the scammer he was the one who called him so he "did not need to verify" anything. The resident said there was no caller ID and the scammer didn't provide a name.
