Territorial: A Langley Avenue resident stopped an individual in an electric wheelchair she said had crossed her property to get to the sidewalk that runs parallel to Sunset Boulevard and wanted the individual removed Thursday. Police attempted to speak with her about ownership of a parcel north of her residence "but she continually stated that she owns all of it," they said. They checked the county IS map and located the parcel in question but said she "refused to speak with (them) further" so they told the individual in the wheelchair they could leave.
Drive by: A man whose father drove past him while he was walking home after being released from jail Thursday fought with him when he got home. The son claimed that when he got home his father "began harassing and yelling at him" and their argument turned into a physical altercation after his father "put him into a headlock" and took him to the ground. Dad told them his son was "irate" when he had to walk home and "was getting into his face while he was sitting in (his) recliner" and when he stood up, his son "came at him" and began to shove himself into him. He said he put his arms around his son's head and upper body to defend himself and get his son under control, causing his elbows and arms to bang off the wall.
Misplaced anger: A city resident told police Thursday she's getting messages from the ex-girlfriend of a man she no longer is seeing. She said they only went out "a short period of time," police said, but is concerned the ex-girlfriend may cause problems.
Partial truths: A caller said her son got in a fight with one of his friends Thursday. Her son told them he and his friend were wrestling "and his...friend got mad and started hitting him in the face." Police said his face was red and he had some swelling under his eye, but all his mother wanted was for police to speak with the other child and his mother. They didn't answer the door when police arrived but they did spot some of the kids' mutual friends, who advised the caller's son had "attempted to pull the other (boy's) necklace off before grabbing him by the hair which resulted in him "landing punches" on the caller's son.
Unhappy neighbor: A Johnson Road resident said she's being threatened by another tenant in her building.
