Veterans Memorial Bridge to temporarily close for inspection
WEIRTON - Eastbound and westbound lanes of the Veterans Memorial Bridge will be closed to traffic, from midnight to 4 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, for a bridge inspection.
The closures are being done at night to minimize the impact on motorists. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated.
Alternate routes include traveling north to U.S. 30 and then south to return to U.S. 22, or south to the Wellsburg Bridge.
The schedule could be altered by inclement weather or other circumstances.
Grievance hearing set in Mingo Junction
MINGO JUNCTION -- Village Council has scheduled a grievance hearing for the fire chief for 7 p.m. Thursday. The meeting will be held in the village building, 501 Commercial Street.
Gospel meeting scheduled
WEIRTON--Weirton Heights Church of Christ is hosting a gospel meeting Oct. 11-14 focused on Great Chapters of the Bible.
Guest speaker will be Peter Ray Cole of Fairview, WV. Church members say all are welcome.
The church is located at 3169 Pennsylvania Ave., Weirton.
