Pointing fingers: A woman in the 100 block of Langley Avenue told police her husband was causing a disturbance, but when they arrived at her home Friday she "insisted (their) assistance was no longer needed." She and her husband both said she'd been arguing with a sister-in-law, but the sister-in-law had left so police were no longer needed. While officers were talking to them, however, the two "continued to argue back-and-forth with one another."
The two were advised to separate for the evening. Police had to return to the residence about an hour later after one of them called 9-1-1 and hung up. When the dispatcher called the number back, standard procedure when someone hangs up after calling 9-1-1, both parties "appeared intoxicated." The woman alleged domestic violence, saying her husband had "kicked in the side door after she locked him out."
She told police she felt he was behaving aggressively and locked the door, claiming his kicking it constituted domestic violence. He told police she was upset because "he had family visiting and was trying to kick him out of their home."
Police said he never raised his voice or appeared aggressive, but while they spoke with him the female "continued to antagonize him, dancing behind him and mocking him as well as continually interrupting him and (them)." They said she "started to get more belligerent, berating her husband and (police), along with going in and out of the residence and slamming doors" when they told her he hadn't done anything they could arrest him for "and if she didn't want to be around him she could leave if he would not."
The woman stormed back into the house and shut the door, so police told her husband and his family they might want to leave until things calmed down.
Hungry man: A downtown resident called dispatchers "multiple times" Saturday to tell them he needed food but insisted he didn't need an ambulance. Police said he called 9-1-1 "over 25 times" for nonemergencies, so they sent city firefighters to check on him.
Once there, he told police he "needed food and would not stop calling...until he was fed." He let officers check his apartment, but all they found was "condiments," and he couldn't tell them when his last meal was.
He also admitted missing at least three dialysis appointments and had no idea who was president or what day of the week it was. He did know he'd passed out "multiple times over the last week or so for no apparent reason."
He didn't want medical care, but due to the lack of food in his home, his age and the conversations they had with him, police deemed him unable to care for himself and told him it wasn't going to be his choice.
Unhappy: Callers reported a woman on South at Fourth streets arguing with passersby Saturday. She told police she'd "been arguing with drivers" and didn't need their help.
Uncovered: Police checked the 100 block of N. Fourth Street Friday for a man in a white shirt who was reported to be "exposing himself," but didn't locate anyone matching the description. No witnesses or victims wanted to talk about it.
Lost and found: A resident in the 400 block of Lawson Avenue reported her 2019 Honda CR-V stolen Thursday. She said she'd left her keys in her unlocked car that morning. A neighbor reported seeing a skinny man with a fake-looking beard and a bowl-style haircut walk around her vehicle, open the driver's door and drive away.
Later in the day, police located the vehicle in the alley behind the 500 block of Lawson Avenue with "significant" damage to the passenger side and the interior in disarray.
Hit and skipped: A woman in the 1000 block of Claire Avenue claimed her ex punched her in the face before fleeing her home Thursday. She said he doesn't live there, they aren't married and they don't have children together. She didn't want to pursue charges.
Booked: Megan Swain, 40, Brookfield, Ohio, possession of cocaine Saturday. Police allegedly found two small, rock-like substances believed to be crack cocaine in her vehicle and reported they also cited her for a headlight violation.
Charged: Shelia Coaly, 58, Elm Street, Steubenville, warrant for arson Friday; David R. Capenter, 60, 404 Berge Road, Toronto, driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia Friday.
Code issues: 1219 Wellesley Ave., 1407 Wellesley Ave., 1411 Wellesley Ave. and 4701 Scioto Drive, all for high grass. Also, 1420 Arlington Ave., high grass, junk and household discards scattered in the grass; and 502 Lincoln Blvd., high grass, sofa and trash cans left in the green strip next to the residence and cushions left on the back porch.

Cox, 661 Della St., Weirton; Patricia Brownfield, 63, 1401 Wellesley Ave., speeding in a school zone; Taneshia James, 34, 805 Market St., Apt. C, Steubenville, driving under suspension; and Rashunna I. Booker, 415 Maxwell Ave., Steubenville, failure to stop for a school bus.
Towed were a white Ford E-150 with an expired temporary plate and a black Ford Taurus parked in the 1300 block of Cardinal Street.
