Soft touch: Women in the 400 block of S. Fifth Street were arguing because a juvenile told one of them the neighbor’s child had shot him with a BB gun Sunday, so she confronted the other mother, who advised it was actually a Nerf gun. Police told her she needs to make it clear to her children that it is not OK to shoot their neighbors with Nerf guns.
Lucky day: Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol were having problems Saturday with a male in the 500 block of Woodlawn who was “giving them issues.” After talking with all parties, police dropped him off at his destination.
Job hazard: A driver for DoorDash injured her wrist and was bitten on the stomach delivering an order to the 500 block of Woodland Avenue on May 7. She said the property owner’s dog lunged at her when she handed him the food, grabbing her wrist. The owner grabbed his dog but lost his grip, and the dog bit her.
Pet friendly: Employees at Kroger told police a man left the store May 6 without paying for a $65 bag of dog food and fled in a gold-colored Cadillac Escalade.
Had enough: A woman said a man she knows is using social media to “make claims she threatened him.” She told police she blocked him from all of her accounts.
One booked, one served: A traffic stop Sunday on Fifth Street at North Street led to two women being taken into custody. Police said Lila Roe, 28, 916 N. Sixth St., Steubenville, was booked into the county jail as a fugitive from justice and cited for driving under suspension, while her passenger, Az’jha McGee, 20, 811 Efts Lane, was served with a warrant alleging failure to appear in Steubenville Municipal Court.
Booked: Rickey Noviski, 48, 301 McKee Ave., Steubenville, probation violation; Joel K. Azoulay, 30, Seattle, menacing; Nicole Ashley Pierce, 37, no address listed, violating a protection order.
Summons issued: James D. Libetti, 66, no fixed address, misdemeanor theft. Libetti allegedly tried to leave Walmart without paying for merchandise valued at nearly $121.
Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to the owners or occupants of properties at 425 Clinton St. — litter and garbage under side porch, wood, discarded household goods, appliances, dog feces and litter scattered on property, trash under steps in rear of residence; and 1320 Arlington Ave. — high grass, furniture and other discarded items in back yard.
