Steubenville Police

Crafty: A driver for Famous Supply said a Kia Sedona minivan collided with his truck Wednesday on University Boulevard near state Route 7. The van driver allegedly told him “he was on the phone with (police)” and was told to move his van off the roadway but “drove away and left the scene,” police report. Dispatchers said they were not notified about the collision until the truck driver reported it.

Charge filed: Callers reported hearing glass breaking Wednesday in a vacant building in the 200 block of N. 7th Street. Police said Ronald Grimes, 46, 615 Ross St., Steubenville, was issued a summons for alleged criminal trespass. Grimes allegedly said he “was being chased by a few unknown subjects” and didn’t have permission to be in the building, police said.

Already gone: A bystander said an employee and a customer at a downtown business argued and ended up in a physical confrontation Wednesday. Police were told the customer left before police arrived.

Yard damaged: An Oak Grove resident said a woman “purposely” drove through his yard Wednesday. He said he doesn’t know her name but she lives in the area.

Fraud suspected: A Rosswell Avenue resident told police Wednesday she thinks a family member living out of state may have changed her mailing address and accessed her Social Security benefits and insurance information.

Charged: Jana E. Kizito, 42, 1502 Ridge Ave., Steubenville, misdemeanor theft.

Code issues: Notices sent to owners/occupants of properties at 1301 Plum St., 419 Union Ave., 421 Union Ave., 312 Lawson Ave., and 314 Lawson Ave., all alleging high grass. Also, 403 Union Ave., high grass, mattresses and other household litter in back yard; 405 Union Ave., high grass, bagged trash at curb; 409 Union Ave., mattresses and bagged garbage in back yard.

Cited: Daniel Everhart, 60, 1239 Tweed Ave., Steubenville, loud radio. Police said a caller complained about the noise and they had advised him to turn it down, which he did, but a few minutes later they were called back to his home. Speeding citations were also issued to Kylee M. Coutts, 36, 111 3rd St., Tiltonsville, and Robert S. Billeter, 58, 1216 Oakmont St., Follansbee.

Jefferson County Sheriff

Porch crasher: A Bloomingdale man said a woman “came to (his) home, sat down on his porch and made herself at home,” deputies report. The caller said he told her several times to leave but “all she would say was ‘call the sheriff’,” deputies said. She left when 9-1-1 was contacted.

Disturbance reported: Someone reported hearing “loud yelling” and seeing “a naked woman yelling at a man” in a garage April 20. The male told deputies his girlfriend was just yelling but all was well and it never became physical. They said they tried to speak with the female but she “became angry with (our) presence and began yelling at (them) to exit her residence.” Her male companion said he felt safe staying there with her.

Cross Creek Police

Booked: Johnathan T. Bray, 35, 1413 Oregon Ave., Steubenville, aggravated menacing and parole violation, Wednesday. Bray allegedly threatened to shoot a UPS driver at a County Road 28 location, sheriff’s deputies who assisted reported.
