West Virginia State Police

Charged: Marcus D. Mossor, 39, 2222 Mariana St., Wellsburg, driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, passing with oncoming traffic, improperly equipped vehicle, Friday.

Charged: Mark A. Galiano, 51, 1672 McCords Hill Road Wellsburg, driving while suspended, no proof of insurance and improperly equipped vehicle, Sunday.

Wellsburg Police

Charged: Randy P. Barnhart, 39, 515 Highland Ave., Steubenville, domestic battery, Friday.

Weirton Police

Charged: Tyler A. Law, 22, 3601 Beaumont Drive, domestic battery, Saturday.

Steubenville Police

Turned down: An intoxicated male tried to buy alcohol from the uptown Speedway, Monday. Employees said he’d already heft the area in a white SUV. They said they’d sold him alcohol earlier in the day, and when he returned for more, they deemed him “possibly intoxicated,” so they said no.

Partied on: Police were asked to check on a man in the 700 block of Market Street, Sunday. Police report he was intoxicated and was upset. After counseling him for a few minutes they said he calmed down and then joined friends in the community area for a Super Bowl party.

Blocked: A caller complained about a driveway being blocked in the 800 block of Jeannette Avenue, Sunday. Police said a man was standing next to the vehicle when hey arrived and said he told them that, “due to the snow accumulation, he was unaware he was parked in front of a driveway.

Dissipated: A caller reported “multiple people fighting in the roadway” in the 1900 block of Girard Avenue, Sunday. Police said no one was fighting when they scoured the area.

Cited: Michael Selester, 29, Aliquippa, Pa., expired/unlawful and fictitious plates, vehicle towed; Brent Beatty, 55, 4100 Brooke St., expired registration.

Jefferson County Sheriff

Charged: A Jefferson County woman said her husband was “drunk and fighting with her,” Sunday. She said he’d “been drinking 14 hours straight and is now threatening to shoot her with a 12 gauge” but hadn’t raised a hand to her. Geno Tate, 120 Cheryl Ave., Mino Junction, was booked into the Jefferson County jail on charges of domestic violence and weapons while intoxicated.”

Hijinks: A caller said someone was standing in the middle of the roadway in the vicinity of township Road 299 “shooting off a gun,” Sunday. Deputies were advised that Ohio State Highway Patrol officers had checked the area without finding anyone.
