S’no angel: A city resident told police he “was involved in a confrontation” with a man clearing snow from a gas station, Monday. He said the man had been pushing the snow into the street and he tried “to go up and over it and got his vehicle stuck.” He said when he got his phone out to record the incident the other man “smacked the phone out of his hand.” The man clearing the snow said the caller “became angry and was yelling at him” and when he “got in his face” with the phone he slapped it out of the caller’s hand. Police advised him there was nothing to stop the caller from recording him, and he should not have slapped it out of the man’s hands.
Hung up: Snowplow drivers requested assistance on Central Avenue when they got hung up because two vehicles were blocking their path, Monday. The plow drivers told police they needed both vehicles to move, and one of the drivers was upset. Police told them both to leave and they did.
Seeing signs: An Oregon Avenue resident reported being harassed, Tuesday. The resident said she is “in fear for her life as well as her father’s life,” alleging “unknown people have been leaving signs or symbols for her to see that she believes to be threats,” including “orange trash bags … and alleged some type of gang was responsible for the symbols.” Police advised the resident to block contact with any individuals she believes might be leaving symbols for her to see.
Slap happy: A 14-year-old told police she and her stepfather were arguing over schoolwork and he made her stand against the wall as punishment for not doing her homework, Monday. She said they kept arguing and he “slapped her in the face” so she shoved him and then he “pushed her onto the ground.” Her stepfather said standing against the wall was her punishment but “she kept trying to sit down” so they continued to argue. He said she punched him twice, so he shoved her and then she left the residence. Police spoke with her mom, who said she was not interested in filing charges. Later, she asked police to remove him from the residence after her daughter and the male started arguing again. This time the mother said her child was “talking back” and the male was going to slap her in the mouth” so her daughter pushed him away and they scuffled. Police said the girl did have a mark under her eye and when they asked her what happened, the girl pointed at the male. Mom said she’d already “addressed the situation” and just wanted him to “leave for a while”, which he agreed to do.
