Fisticuffs: A Wintersville teen ended up in custody after he allegedly punched a police officer trying to separate him from another man with whom he’d been fighting in the downtown Speedway, Tuesday. As they pulled up police said the two men had emerged from the store and one of the men shoved the other into the back seat of a nearby car, causing him to start “screaming.” Police said as they walked to the car they they couldn’t understand what he was saying but took a glass bottle out of his hand and walked him away from the car. They report the man was “screaming and (behaving) aggressively and confrontational” and when they asked hi to sit on the curb he instead “grabbed hold of (the officer) and attempted to shove (him),” at one point punching (the officer) in the side of his head. To get him under control the officer said he “struck (the screamer) once in the face,” which they said caused him to stop struggling and they were able to get him into handcuffs. Nizjee N. Feaster, 18, 213 Christopher Ave., Wintersville, was charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, obstruction, disorderly intoxication and criminal mischief, police said.
Agitated: A motorist flagged down officers who were on patrol in the LaBelle area and a female in the car began screaming at them, Monday. The male told them he felt like they were following him and wanted to know why, but before the officer could tell him he wasn’t sure what he was talking about a female who was with him “began yelling and cursing at (them.)” Police said they told her to calm down but instead she “continued to speak in the same manner” and eventually complained that on a previous occasion they’d been followed all the way through town until they crossed into West Virginia. Police told her if an officer on patrol sees a vehicle in a neighborhood where it doesn’t belong or in an area known for drug activity they “are likely to investigate to some extent while on patrol,” but even then it doesn’t mean someone is being harassed in the process. She was also advised that “causing such a disturbance is likely to result in her being arrested should (that) type of behavior continue to be an issue.”
