Police reports

Steubenville Police

Hear ye: Julie Redd, 42, 714 Broadway Blvd., Steubenville, loud radio. Police allege Redd was warned she was playing her music so loudly she “appeared … to be unable to hear (their) knocks” so they had to “shine their light” through the front door window to get her attention. They warned her it was a violation of the city’s noise ordinance and said she did lower the volume, but not long after dispatchers notified them that as soon as they left her house, she’d jacked the volume up again. This time when they spoke with her police said she “became argumentative, (claiming) she had turned the volume down” though they pointed out it was still much too loud as they’d heard it themselves from the sidewalk when they pulled up. Police maintain that when they told her she was going to be cited she “became uncooperative, refusing to (sign) the citation” but eventually did.

Blame game: Two people in the 400 block of Lauretta Drive each blamed the other for a disturbance, Wednesday. The male claimed his wife “threw a peanut butter sandwich at him,” while she accused him of “knocking her glasses off.” A family member who was in the residence at the time reported hearing them “yelling at each other for a long time” but could not verify either of their stories. The female ended up leaving the residence to allow things to calm down.

Blood lines: City residents said they’re being “continuously harassed” by a member of their extended family, Tuesday. They said they’d thought things had died down until the family member drove past their home, “screaming out the window” warnings to “watch (their) car.” The male was concerned the family member might return and damage his car.

Going, going, gone: A Wintersville woman said she must have put her phone down while she checked out at Kroger and forgot to pick it up, Wednesday. By the time she returned for it, it was gone.

Summons issued: Robert Allen Love, 53, 709 Pine Street (upstairs), Steubenville, misdemeanor theft, Wednesday.
