Lovely look: Police responding to a disturbance call found a woman in the driveway of a residence in the 800 block of Lincoln Avenue "screaming" at a male, Sunday. The man told police he'd been at the woman's home "and they were drinking" and started arguing so he and his son left, but she followed them to the Lincoln Avenue location "and began honking the horn nonstop," then banged on the door "trying to get him to come outside.
She claimed the man stole $900 from her residence, but admitted she didn't see him take it, and he told police he didn't have it. He wanted her to leave his property, and police said that "after a while ... she finally left."
That explains it: Police were called to the 100 block of North Fourth Street to assist firefighters with a combative patient" who called for an ambulance then "began making comments which led to (them) requesting assistance," Friday. The woman told police she woke up in an apartment near a downtown club and "had personal items missing," then "felt a sensation that she needed to leave the apartment because it was no longer safe" so she walked down the street and called 9-1-1. Police said when they tried to get more information from her, she "was unable to answer any additional questions," then told them she "had a feeling that her mother's residence was on fire and that she needed help." She also told them she'd used methamphetamine the day before and asked to be transported to Trinity Medical Center West for assistance.
Second thoughts: Police were told the owner and potential buyer of a vehicle had gotten into an argument so the owner seized the vehicle with construction equipment valued between $6,000 and $10,000 belonging to the potential buyer, Saturday.
Accident with injuries: A woman was cited following a two-car accident on Sunset Boulevard at Linden Avenue, Saturday. Police cited Ashley Hill, 42, 816 Third St., Brilliant, with failure to yield after she allegedly told them she didn't see the other vehicle when she pulled out of a business in the 2200 block of Sunset. A witness told police that after the collision the other vehicle, a Honda HRV, coasted backward over the curb and into (a) tree." Police said the driver of the other vehicle, a Honda, was injured and the HRV had heavy front-end damage from the initial impact plus rear-end damage when it rolled into the tree, police said.
Pointing fingers: A resident in the 400 block of S. 4th Street said several females staying at a residence behind hers have use "directing...slurs towards her and her family over a parking spot," Saturday. One of the women she'd complained about claimed she and her daughter were being harassed by the caller and her family. All involved were told to "just ignore one another and not to speak with each other."
'Wasn't me': A disturbance was reported in the 700 block of Market Street, Friday. Police were told "yelling was taking place and ... items were allegedly being thrown and broken" inside an apartment, but when they talked to the residents were told "they had no idea what (police) were referring to." Residents in a neighboring also advised "nothing had taken place."
Upset the applecart: A disturbance was reported at Mr. Fuel when a woman took exception to her mother being unwilling to give her the key to her residence so she could move her things out, Saturday. Mom said her daughter was upset that she "didn't want her at her residence while she wasn't home and allegedly knocked items over" in the store. Police told the daughter she is no longer welcome in the store.
Lost and found: A resident in the 500 block of South Fourth Street told police he got an alert that a package he was expecting had been delivered but when he checked on it, it was nowhere to be found, Friday. While police were speaking with his neighbors they located the package "on the opposite side of the complex" and took it to him. The package contained a set of kitchen knives.
Cited: Jvaughn Walker, 30, 440 S. 5th St, no operator's license and failure to yield following a two-car collision Friday at the intersection of Shirley Avenue and Sunset Boulevard, Friday. Police said a woman initially identified herself as the driver of a sedan "waiting to turn onto Sunset when (it) was struck," and report Walker initially identified himself as her passenger and that he said the other motorist was "driving fast and struck their car." After reviewing footage of the mishap, police allege Walker told them "he was the one that was driving" the sedan.
