Police reports

Strange stuff: A woman reported “a group of 10 people at her house telling her she doesn’t own it anymore,” Tuesday. She said a woman came in her house to speak with her but reported she was “very nice” but when deputies asked to speak with the visitor said the woman “didn’t want to speak with (them).” A deputy was dispatched to the residence, but when he arrived he said there was no one outside and the only person in the living room was a juvenile who said “no one had been in the house” and “no one was ever there.”
Booked: Amber Burrows, 26, 278 Township Road 457, Irondale, probation violation and failure to appear (Steubenville Municipal Court), Tuesday.

Fed up: A Toronto resident told police he arranged for another man to drive his U-Haul truck from the lot to his home while he was in the hospital but the man didn’t deliver as promised, Tuesday. He said the man told him he left the truck at his cousin’s residence “but would not provide his information.” He said it’s been going on since June and he’s ready to pursue charges.
Dithering: A woman said her male companion wouldn’t let her gather her things so she could move out, Tuesday. Police talked to the man, who said he would get her things but when he returned with her belongings she told police “she had changed her mind and did not want to leave.” They offered her a ride to a friend’s residence “but she (told them) she wanted to stay with (him).”
Spunky: Someone reported seeing a “disoriented, elderly female in the roadway” at the intersection of Carnegie Avenue and Oregon Avenue, Tuesday. She told police she was “okay and only walking home.” They offered her a ride but she told them “she would rather walk home.”
Family time: A resident in the 100 block of Opal Boulevard reported a disturbance at his home, Tuesday. Police were advised an argument erupted between two female family members, one of whom allegedly threw a cell phone striking someone in the groin and that the other woman responded by “flinging (her) purse across the room,” striking the first woman. No one wanted to file charges but they did “request guidance and counseling from the police,” but police told them they need to “consider new living arrangements and explained the eviction process” and pointed out the police “are not to be used for family counseling sessions.” All involved were advised to stay away from each other or leave for the evening.
Walking the streets: A caller reported juveniles “walking around the neighborhood” in the 400 block of S. 5th Street “under-dressed for the weather,” Tuesday. She said the children are also too young to be outside by themselves while their mother is home. Police said they will follow up with the mother of the children.
Charged: Employees at Walmart reported a man tried to leave the store without paying for a Torch End allegedly concealed in the front of his pants, Tuesday. Thomas Allan Patterson, 47, 4017 Lewis St., Weirton, was charged with theft, police said. Since the packaging was intact the item was returned to the shelf.
Booked: Stephen R. Blauch, 57, no fixed address, contempt of court, Tuesday. Blauch was caught at the residence of a protected person, police said.
