Steubenville Police

Building damaged: Debra K. Carducci, 70, 455 township Road 109A, Rayland, failure to control after a one-car accident Thursday at the Eat ‘n Park Restaurant at the Fort Steuben Mall. Carducci told police her foot slipped off the brake pedal and her car surged forward, driving over a small hedgerow, a fence and through some stacked up picnic furniture before coming to rest against the corner of the building. Police said the vehicle sustained heavy front end damage, with some damage done to the hedge, furniture and corner of the building.

Booked: A Bloomingdale woman was taken into custody and another injured in a head-on collision on Lovers Lane at Sunset Boulevard, Thursday. The injured woman told police she had a green arrow and was about to turn left when the vehicles collided. Police report the other driver “was immediately uncooperative and refused to advise what had happened” and allegedly smelled of alcohol, with “slurred speech and glossy eyes.” Angel Tennant, 56, 1720 county Road 22A, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and cited for a red light violation, police said.

Charged: Mathew Hawkins, 32, Toronto, obstructing official business, Friday. Police were told “a suspicious person, possibly intoxicated,” had tumbled down the hillside behind a building on St. Charles Drive and began “looking through their ashtray,” Thursday. When confronted, they said the man had red hair and was carrying a black T-shirt when he fled on foot. When he was spotted in the Kroger Plaza, police claim Hawkins tried to flee.

Potty mouthed: A Langley Avenue resident was upset that a juvenile rode a scooter through her yard and when she asked her not to, “another juvenile wearing a skull skeleton shirt began using foul language before finally leaving.”

Missing phones: A cell phone store told police an employee had stolen 10 phones in late September before being terminated, Thursday.

Served: Kenneth A. Tucker, 31, Aurora, warrant for failure to appear (driving under suspension, Steubenville Municipal Court).

Cited: Marcus A. Steele, 39, 2506 Cherry Ave., Steubenville, failure to stop for a school bus.
