A little nervous: A deputy pulled over a driver on state Route 7 near Brilliant after observing her vehicle veer onto the berm multiple times Tuesday night. When the deputy approached her on foot, the driver took her foot off the brake and because the vehicle wasn’t in park, it lurched forward. The deputy said the women admitted to texting on her phone and was warned not to do that.

Steubenville Police

Summoned: Cody Northcraft, 26, and Tiffany D. Dilley, 28, both of Lot 14, 1588 state Route 43, both for theft, Tuesday.

Questioned person: Police responding to a report of a suspicious man sitting behind a guardrail near Hollywood Boulevard and Pico Street Wednesday morning approached him and were told he was taking a walk following an argument with his girlfriend. Told there had been car break-ins in the area recently, he volunteered, without being asked, to show officers the contents of his book bag, and police found nothing to concern them.

Fallen tree: South Street west of South Eighth Street was blocked by a large, fallen tree early Wednesday. Unable to move the tree themselves, officers contacted the street department.

Cited: Naudia M. Harmon, 23, Apartment E, 723 Market St., and Kenay M. Thomas, both for speeding; Anita Saliba, 50, Harrison, N.J., failure to assure clear distance; and Billie Ware, 66, 410 Union Ave., expired plates.
