Jefferson County Sheriff
Near collision: A driver reported the rider of an all-terrain vehicle was driving it up and down Ward Drive in Wintersville about 9:24 p.m. Monday and nearly caused her to crash.
Helping hand: A deputy found a driver along state Route 43 with a flat tire and without a jack so he assisted him in changing the tire Monday evening.
Mistaken identity: A deputy on patrol on Bantam Ridge Road early Tuesday because of a series of car break-ins found a man sitting alone in a parked truck in a driveway. He said the man ran from the truck and into the house, emerging some time later saying he thought he was being followed by someone intending to rob his home and went inside to get a gun. The deputy said the man told him because the weather was nice, he had been sitting in his truck watching YouTube.

Dangerous prank: A driver reported someone threw an egg into his vehicle as he was driving south on University Boulevard at about 11 p.m. Monday.
Lending a hand: City Police found a driver whose vehicle stalled at the off ramp to Lawson Avenue and pushed it to a safer spot so he could wait for a tow truck at about 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Stolen television: A 45-inch television was reported stolen from a home on Jefferson Street Tuesday.
