Steubenville Police
Robbed: A Pine Street resident said someone broke into a shed and stole tools as well as a set of tires that belonged to her next-door neighbor, Saturday. She estimated the value of the stolen items at around $600.
Charges filed: A man is facing multiple charges after he and a companion were allegedly caught driving a car with stolen license plates, Saturday. Joshua D. Edgell, 30, of Washington, Pa., was charged with possessing/receiving stolen property, possession of drugs, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, while his female companion, Shaianne A. Kelly, 28, of Canonsburg, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after she told them she had a couple pipes in her purse, police said. Edgell allegedly had plastic bags containing 6.5 grams of a substance believed to be crack cocaine in his possession, along with a couple dozen pills.
Destruction reported: A Cleveland Avenue resident called for police because she believed her son was “under the influence of drugs and destroying items in the residence,” Saturday. When they got to her home, she told them her son had already left.
Drunk: Someone reported a possible overdose in the 500 block of South Street, Friday. Police said the man was just “highly intoxicated” so they escorted him home.
Petty disagreement: Two people were arguing in the 500 block of Adams Street over a cigarette lighter, Saturday. The contested item was returned to the male and the female left the area with a family member.
Brotherly love: Police were asked to check on a child heard yelling in a residence in the 1400 block of Wellesley Avenue, Friday. The child’s mother told police “one of the children … had been yelling due to the fact that he was in trouble for fighting with his brother.”
Booked: Larry A. Farley, 70, 641 Grandview Ave., Steubenville, domestic violence, Saturday. A female said the two of them had been arguing and he “grabbed her arm and swung her around, injuring her shoulder” and claimed he told her she would “regret the day she married him.” Police said she told them she was recently hospitalized for injuries from a prior incident, and she is afraid. He said there was no physical altercation “and that she hurt her arm when he let go of the door that she was attempting to pull shut,” police reported.
Booked: Terrick Delaney, no age listed, 508 Logan St., Steubenville, criminal mischief, Saturday. Delaney was taken into custody after police responded to a disturbance call in the vicinity of North End ballfield. He also was served with a warrant for domestic violence, police said.
Served: Robert Allen Kopras, 1238 Ridge Ave., Steubenville, felony warrant for violating a protection order, Friday.
Cited: Ida M. Boone, 62, Belmont, failure to yield after a two-vehicle collision without injuries Friday in the 100 block of North Fourth Street.
Summoned: Bridgete Burke, 42, 1333 Arlington Ave., petit theft.
Twice not the charm: City Police were responding to another incident at a local store on Sunday afternoon when staff advised two men were attempting to leave with two full shopping carts. Dominic Andrews, no age given, of Martins Ferry, has been charged with petit theft, and Javionte Howes, 19, of Bridgeport, has been charged with petit theft and possession of criminal tools because police found cutting pliers on his possession.
Store staff, who determined the men had taken more than $1,000 in merchandise, said they had been seen attempting to leave the store the previous day through the gardening section but finding no exit, left a cart filled with goods behind.
Charged: Cassaundra Digman, 35, 509 N. Third St., Toronto, possession of drug paraphernalia for alleged possession of a crack pipe.
Squatters: After receiving a report of two men leaving a vacant building, City Police’s K-9 unit was deployed at the site and the pair were found and told not to return.

Assault: A woman reported a woman known to her struck her in various parts of the body and pulled her hair at a Wintersville home on Sunday afternoon.
Assault: A man reported a man known to him tackled him to the ground and struck him following an argument outside their parked vehicles near Pioneer Street in Irondale Sunday morning.
Shots reported: A resident reported hearing four to six gunshots fired in the Walden Avenue area of Tiltonsville at about 9:35 p.m. Sunday, but a check of the area turned up nothing.
Suspicious person: A traveler reported a man was standing along the southbound lane of state Route 7 near Empire and shining a flashlight at passing cars at about 11:13 p.m. Saturday. The area was checked and no one was found.
Damsel in distress: A traveler reported he observed a woman in a red dress standing along state Route 150 near county Road 8 and yelling for help at about noon Friday. The area was checked and no one was found.
Suspicious person: A Smithfield resident said a masked man was looking into the homes of windows at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Deputies found a man walking a street near his home, but he wasn’t wearing a mask and said he wasn’t looking into windows.
