Steubenville Police
Down and out: Callers reported a man in the bathroom at McDonald’s “yelling … and hitting the walls,” Wednesday. Police said they recognized the man but didn’t see any damage to the walls, so they roused the man who “immediately stood up and stated he was fine.” He declined medical assistance, so police took him home.
Packs a punch: A Grandview Avenue resident said a woman who was at his apartment tried to steal his phone and when he confronted her about it, “became aggressive striking him in the face,” Wednesday. Police said his lip was swollen, but he told them he didn’t hit her back, and she left soon after. He refused medical attention and didn’t want to pursue charges.
Drugs: An apparent overdose was reported in the 2700 block of Cleveland Avenue, Wednesday. Police said Steubenville firefighters administered Narcan to revive a woman. A family member who had talked to her less than two hours earlier said she found her unconscious with “numerous amounts of drug paraphernalia and a white powder substance on the floor” next to her. Police seized the items and issued an overdose treatment form to the victim, who was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Can’t do that: Police spotted a woman walking alongside her bike on the Market Street off ramp near Washington Street Hill, Thursday. Police warned her for the violation and waited while she safely made her way back down the ramp “and onto the provided sidewalk before clearing from the scene.”
Noisy: A man was “being loud” outside a vehicle in the 700 block of Seventh Street, Thursday. Police said they spotted the man standing outside his vehicle and when they advised him of the complaint, said he told them he was “yelling up to his kids who were at his apartment window.” He said he would keep the noise down.
