Domestic: A caller told police a man with a knife was causing problems in the 600 block of Logan Avenue, Saturday. The woman said her boyfriend had been causing problems throughout the day over a friend who’d visited her earlier in the day, who he said threatened him “because he believed he was lying about him when (he) was in jail.” He said he was leaving to buy cat food when another of her friends arrived and said he threatened him after she told him about the domestic dispute they’d had earlier. The friend said he could tell the woman was upset and advised she’d been assaulted, so he told the boyfriend it was best if he left the residence so things didn’t escalate. He said the man left but returned and said when the husband pulled a pocketknife out of his pocket, he felt threatened, so he pulled his hunting knife out in self-defense and the boyfriend left.

Police were able to review a surveillance video of the assault and said they smelled the pepper spray.
