Made it worse: A woman suspected of shoplifting at Wal-Mart landed in more trouble because she allegedly tried to mislead police about her identity, Tuesday. Jenaine L. Greathouse 44, 3433 Pennsylvania Ave, Apt. 1, Weirton was charged with two counts of falsification in addition to misdemeanor theft, police said. Employees allege Greathouse tried to leave the store with just under $60 in merchandise she hadn’t paid for. Police claim Greathouse initially identified herself as “Ms. Carson” but when no records were located, she told them she used to live in Florida. Police reported that when they still couldn’t locate any record of her they warned her she would be held without bond pending identification, so she told them the name of a 62-year-old woman, and when questioned about it, advised them she “aged well” and denied ever having been in jail. When they told her she would be identified by fingerprint, police said Greathouse finally identified herself and said she was wanted on a bench warrant out of Municipal Court. Greathouse also was served with the bench warrant, police said.

He said they’re both out of work and she’d also threatened to “(put) their (child) up for adoption,” though police said they learned she’d said that “purposefully to upset (him.)” They advised the couple they can’t force anyone to leave a property where they’ve established residency unless the other party goes through the eviction process.
