Pen pals: A city resident said someone was knocking on her front door and she thought it had something to do with messages she'd been getting about "someone her daughter ... was involved with last year," Monday. The daughter said she'd sent messages "to another female's boyfriend in jail at her request" last year "and now that female believes (she) is trying to be with the male in question." The daughter said she didn't know the names of any of the people involved and the messages "were rather vague in nature," police said. She told police "She wants nothing to do with any of them."

Confrontational: An active fight involving two women was reported in the 100 block of North Fourth Street, Friday. Police said one of the women was "highly intoxicated" and said other woman had directed slurs at her, so she confronted her. She said the other woman shoved her, so the woman police had described as having too much to drink "struck her in the face" twice. Police told them to stay away from each other.

Shoving match: Dispatchers saw "several subjects" pushing each other in the middle of the street in the 900 block of North Seventh Street, Sunday. Before police arrived, they'd "proceeded to the north side of the building and into the park" and as officers arrived, dispersed. Police stayed there until the legion closed for the night.

Zip it : A caller reported a man riding a side-by-side yelling obscenities, Saturday. He told police he was test-driving the vehicle "to see if it worked in order for him to give it to his father." Police told him to park it and took the keys, telling him he could pick them up in the morning but advised him he'd need a tow or a trailer to get it home because it could not be driven in the street,

Bagged: A man in the 100 block of South Fourth Street said he'd been arguing with a female who "threw a shopping bag at him," before running toward the south end, Sunday. Later in the day the same couple was arguing in the 100 block of Fourth Street. This time, another woman tried to intervene and was inadvertently pepper sprayed by the male.

Theft: A Wal-Mart shopper who requested $100 cash back at the self-checkout said she forgot to take it and when she returned the money was gone, Friday.

Disruptive: A city resident reported a man "was calling her names and (said) he was going to damage her husband's wheelchair," Saturday.

Not talking: A woman involved in a disturbance in the 500 block of South Fourth Street told police it was "nothing (more) than an argument," Friday. An iPad was broken during the argument, but police said the male had already left and she was "unwilling to listen" when they tried to talk with her.
