Steubenville Police
Driver facing multiple charges: A city resident was taken into custody after a two-car accident at Sunset Boulevard and John Scott Highway, Tuesday. Police said witnesses told them a male had fled the scene on foot after allegedly running the red light and crashing into a vehicle operated by a female who was entering the intersection. The female driver was trapped in the vehicle and after being extricated by Steubenville firefighters was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital. Police said they located the male, identified as Tajh Jackson, 34, 433 Henry Ave., in the 500 block of Buena Vista Boulevard and charged him with aggravated vehicular assault, operating a vehicle under the influence and obstruction after allegedly finding a pint bottle of Jack Daniel’s “three-quarters empty” in the center console. Police said there was “a large amount of vehicle debris covering the roadway” and they’d observed “extensive damage” to both vehicles.
Off-roading: Police spotted a vehicle driving through a grassy area in the 200 block of North Sevent Street “dangerously close to the railroad tracks,” Tuesday. They said the passenger jumped out near the dead-end and when they asked him what he and the female driver were doing there at 2 a.m. they said the driver told them they were “looking for a clothing drop bin to drop off clothes.” Police said the driver also told them they were looking for a clothing drop off bin, though when police pointed out there were no clothes in the car to drop off the female allegedly told them he clothes were still at her house and once they scouted the location to confirm bins were there they would return to her home and get them. Police allege Patricia Kennedy, 59, 885 Highland St., Follansbee, had a substance believed to be methamphetamine in her possession. She was charged her with possession of drugs.
Gun fire: Someone reported hearing shots fired “somewhere near Veteran’s Park,” Wednesday. Police said they checked the area and reported finding “a scene” on Oakmont Avenue.
Drugs: Someone reported seeing a female in the 1000 block of Lincoln Avenue passed out in a vehicle, Wednesday. Police said they shined a flashlight on her face but failed to wake her, and when they opened the car door allege a pipe fell from her lap before shaking her to wake her up. Police report Loren Cutri, 36, 966 McKinley Ave., Steubenville, was charged with four counts of drug possession, alleging they found substances believed to be crack cocaine, heroin, fentanyl and methamphetamine in her possession.
