Steubenville Police

Stranded: A caller said a man at Seventh and Ross streets needed help getting off the roof of a building, Monday. Before police got to the location “passersby assisted the citizen off of the roof.”

Family fight: A city resident ended up in custody a disturbance involving a family member, Monday. Police said Shane F. Polimine, 37, 638 Oakmont Ave., was booked into the county jail on a domestic violence charge. They said Polimine told them he’d argued with the family member, who he claimed suggested taking it outside and “pushed him out the front door and down the steps.” He said he turned around and punched the family member in the face in self-defense. The family member said he’d told Polimine to leave and not return and “gave him back his $150 in rent money,” but when he walked him outside “at some point (Polimine) punched (him) in the face.” The family member had no visible injuries but wanted to pursue charges, police said, and provided footage of the incident to them.

Hit or miss: A city resident said the mother of his child was giving him a ride when they started arguing “over her stopping at a store before dropping him off,” Monday. He said she “motioned to punch him,” and when he told her, “I wish you would” she did punch him in his face. He said she apologized and offered to stop at the store, but he told her to just take him home. He didn’t want to pursue charges.

On the run: A Market Street resident said a male “took her suboxone and keys,” but she didn’t want to pursue charges, Monday.

Suspicious: A caller said two men wearing camouflage and face masks were wandering the area near the Pleasant Food Mart, looking into vehicles, Monday. Nobody matching that description was located in the area.
