Rachel Lee Straight, 48, 215 Ritchie Ave., Weirton, possession of methamphetamine, violation of bond, Jan. 11, call reporting subject was at residence despite terms of a bond agreement from a previous domestic violence arrest.

Jason Douglas Rodgers, 43, 3106 Orchard St., Weirton, transferring or receiving stolen property, Jan. 11, patrol officer found subject in possession of copper reported stolen from local business.

Blake John Montgomery, 101 Paul Ave., Weirton, trespassing, fleeing on foot, obstructing/resisting, battery on an officer, Jan. 11, police dispatched to property on John Street for a report of individuals climbing out of a residence’s window, following tracks in the snow and making contact on Cove Road, with subject attempting to flee and fighting with officers.

Francis S. Katrik, 3132 Elm St., possession of a drug instrument, Jan. 13, arrested following a traffic stop.

Dustin Shayne Riggs, 31, 3939 Grant St., Weirton, reckless driving, Jan. 14, arrested upon observation of “doing doughnuts” in a parking lot.

Tommy Anderson, 51, 137 Hudson Ave. Rear, Weirton, warrant for grand larceny, Jan. 16, arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Steubenville Police

Cookie lovers: A caller reported a disturbance in the 900 block of Oxford Boulevard, Tuesday. Police advised the two people involved said they were arguing “over Oreos and a juvenile living in the residence” and a physical altercation ensued, though neither of them wanted to pursue charges.

Charged: A city resident was held in the Jefferson County Jail on an eight-hour intoxication hold after she allegedly took a swing at a man who’d asked her to leave an establishment in the 100 block of North Fourth Street, Wednesday. Jacqueline Bustamante, 35, 410 S. Sixth St., was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct, police said. The employee told police that after she was asked to leave Bustamante “kept banging on the door” and when he opened it, “swung at him and scratched his face.” He didn’t want to pursue charges but advised she isn’t welcome to return. Police allege Bustamante approached an officer “in an aggressive manner,” getting into his face and screaming, stumbled and appeared intoxicated.

Just say no: A city resident reported receiving harassing text messages from a woman in another state, Tuesday. He said for the past two weeks the woman has been threatening to release information about him unless he pays her money. Police told him it “sounds like a scam and he should block (her) number.”

Run off: A woman entered a business downtown with a large bag, and when employees asked to check the bag as she approached the door she fled on foot, Tuesday.

Lost it: Employees at Wal-Mart asked a man to leave after he was “in the store yelling and made threats against (them),” Monday. When they told the irate male to leave the store he did, but he hadn’t left the parking lot. Police said the man told them he uses the money center in the store, but his state ID expired 10 days ago and now they won’t allow him to do business there without it, so he got upset and they argued. He told police he thinks he was treated rudely and told to leave, but he ran out of gas and was waiting for a family member to arrive with some. He denied threatening anyone. Employees trespassed him from all Wal-Mart properties.

Booked: Brett M. Cork, 36, 3625 Sunset Blvd., Apt. 2, Steubenville, warrant (Municipal Court) failure to appear, Monday.

Cited: Levon W. Schmidt, 55, 101 Main St., Tiltonsville, and Kaitlynn E. Held, 34, 148 S. Main St., Apt. C, Cadiz, both speeding (school zone, Sunset at Brady Circle.)

Booked: Darnell Larry Jr., 31, 808 N. Sixth Ave., Steubenville, bench warrant (Belmont County), Tuesday. Larry also was cited for a red light violation and expired registration, police said.

Summons issued: Randy L. Underwood, 41, 100 state Route 151, Mingo Junction, warrant for passing bad checks, Tuesday.

Jefferson County Sheriff

Relapse: Deputies said a woman at a Wintersville residence was yelling for help for her boyfriend “who was so intoxicated he couldn’t even talk,” Tuesday. She said he’s a recovering alcoholic and drank so much he “went into an unconscious state.” He was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Missing: An Avery Drive, Steubenville resident said the post office delivered a package he’d ordered three days ago but he never received it, Tuesday. He said it contained 10 one-ounce silver coins.

Brooke County Sheriff

Charged: David S. Kerns, 53, 3599 Eldersville Road, Colliers, driving under the influence, Tuesday.
