Arrested: Shaka Shajuan Michael Jeter, 35, 623 Cove Road, Weirton, battery, assault, brandishing and assault with a knife, Oct. 18, arrested on three warrants stemming from a July 2 incident on the 600 block of Cove Road.

Beech Bottom Police

Charged: Gregory L. Smith, 54, 4 Fourth St., procuring water with intent to defraud, Wednesday.

Toronto Police

Charged: Amber M. Blancato, 33, 535 N. Fifth St., criminal mischief, Oct. 8.

Charged: Joey D. Slider, 42, 1023 Trenton St., driving while suspended, Saturday.

Charged: Dakota L. Byron, 26, Apartment 32, 901 Bank St., driving while suspended, Monday.

Charged: Alan R. Ciotti, 28, 711 N. Fourth St., failure to register, Monday.

Steubenville Police

Wakeup call: Callers reported a vehicle was struck by gunfire downtown, late Wednesday. Police said the vehicle was southbound in the 900 block of North Seventh Street when it was struck multiple times. No injuries were reported. No arrests have been made and police continue to investigate.

She made me: A woman in the 400 block of Highland Avenue complained that she was thrown to the ground, Wednesday. She said she was sitting on her porch when the next-door neighbor, with whom she has ongoing problems, came out of her house and got in the passenger seat of a car. She told police she approached the car and opened the door with the intent of “snatching her up to fight her” but claimed the neighbor’s male companion “wrapped an arm around her neck, threw her to the ground and kicked her.” The man said he was about to get in the car when he saw the woman open the car door and realized she wanted to fight. He admitted grabbing the woman and “hip-tossing” her away from his companion but denied kicking her, then he and his companion left. He said the woman didn’t call police until they returned home an hour later.

Charged: Employees at Walmart detained two women who allegedly tried to leave the store without paying for more than $280 in merchandise, Wednesday. Police said Amber Cataldo, 32, 915 Riverside Drive, Wellsville, and Rebecca Burr, 62, 113 12th St., Wellsville, were each charged with misdemeanor theft. Employees claim the merchandise was concealed in the women’s purses and shopping bags, police said.

Alarmed: A woman living on North Fifth Street told police a male “came by her residence and brandished a firearm,” Wednesday. She said she didn’t have any proof, but she wanted to get a protection order.

Scammed: An Oregon Avenue resident said she was scammed by someone claiming to be an Xfinity salesman, Wednesday. She said she gave him her credit card number to pay for a modem. Police told her to report the scam to Xfinity and her credit card company and cancel the card.

Damaged: An electric meter at an apartment building in the 3000 block of Sunset Boulevard was damaged, Wednesday.

Served: Ashley P. Norris, 40, Lawson Ave., Steubenville, criminal mischief, Wednesday.

Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to the owners/occupants of properties at 312 S. Sixth St. and 1438 Arlington Ave., high grass/weeds; and 1420 Arlington, high grass/weeds and a couch in back yard.

Cited: Nathan J. Czach, 19, Shelby Township, Mich., speeding; Daquell McClain, 30, 640 Spring Ave., Steubenville, dog-at-large.

Warnings were given to owners of cars parked for extended periods in the 300 block of Summit Avenue and the 400, 500 and 800 blocks of Lawson Avenue. The vehicles were marked for towing.

Jefferson County Sheriff

Wild life: A Mingo Junction resident reported a goat in his front yard, Thursday. The resident said it had been in his yard most of the day. The Humane Society took custody of the animal and was able to locate its owner.

Nailed it: A Yorkville woman said she and her boyfriend were arguing and he grabbed her by the wrist and ripped off her fingernails, Wednesday.

Donut run: Dillonvale residents said someone in a red truck did donuts in their front yard and damaged railroad ties they used as landscaping, Wednesday. A red truck was seen in the neighbor’s driveway but when deputies spoke with them, they said they’d been sleeping and didn’t see anything.

Cited: Michael P. Sturtevant, 498 Montwell Drive, Mingo Junction, expired plate; Norman D. Brown, 157 Talbott Ave., Steubenville, driving under suspension.

West Virginia State Police

Charged: Kayla J. Monroe, 32, 528 Garden Way, Weirton, driving while license revoked for driving under the influence and no seat belt, registration or proof of insurance, Wednesday.

Charged: Kerri A. Swager, 57, Marietta, Ohio, violation of bond condition, Wednesday.
